Advocacy

One of our missions is to end discrimination and to secure civil rights.

PFLAG works at many levels to promote justice and equality. Often our chapter meeting programs include speakers who address specific GLBT issues such as repealing the federal “Don’t Ask, don’t Tell” law that regulates the US Military.

Or we may offer the opportunity to sign a petition or partake in a letter writing campaign. Below is a link that will help to the take action right now.

Take Action

Help pass LGBT inclusive legislation in PA.

Last year, House Bill 745, an LGBT-inclusive Hate Crimes Bill

passed the PA House Judiciary Committee.

We expect the entire Pennsylvania House of Representatives

to vote on this legislation in the very near future.

Now is the time to ask your State Representative

to vote for this important bill.

HB 745 would amend the Title 18 Ethnic Intimidations Act

to define crimes against individuals based on

“actual or perceived ancestry, mental or physical disability,

sexual orientation, gender or gender identity”

as ethnic intimidation, or hate crimes.
